The Orange County Serial Killer - A Commentary

Another day another serial killer apprehended. It was amateur night, you could tell. He went right down the same path other juvenile wannabe serial killers go down. I've been reading serial killer books and watching documentaries for 20 years now, I could've profiled this guy better than any suit-dummy handling bodily fluids with a 4-year degree could have..Even got the tattoos to show for it, so nothing shocks me anymore.

But what a waste of time this guy turned out to be. No sense of individualism, and as usual, he was some immigrant we can't even pronounce the name of or say what race he is picking off easy targets. What happened to the days when serial killers were dedicated to their work? Bundy, Gein, Gacy, and Berkowitz..All genuinely loved what they did and put a lot of pride into their work.

And he had to go do something so 1800's as picking off a couple of drifters and society's less desirable..Seriously kid, you are not original in your MO. Jack the Ripper did it 200 years ago and he did it with style, the guy was a fuckin surgeon when he was fileting those hookers in the dead of night. It barely worked then for him, did you Really think you were going to get away with it?

You want to know how and why you got caught? Because like most kids who fancy themselves a tough-guy, you got real sloppy real fast. You were in too much of a hurry. I knew you were going to try for another victim and that would be your downfall, it happens that way like you wouldn't believe.

If you had bothered to read any criminology book or watched a movie about the serial killers who've been caught, you would have learned that they get caught not because of clever police work, but because they slipped up. Case in point: The police and the feds are fucking stupid when it comes to catching a serial killer..There's no exact science in it, but they pretend there is. They've been known to bring in "Profilers" and "Psychics" who tell them only what they want to hear. They're never right, either. They profiled Ted Kaczynski as being the complete opposite of who he really turned out to be.

Here's how and why he got caught, he violated the rules for being a serial killer who's goal is to postpone capture for as long as possible:

1. Always keep on the move. Don't stay in one place for too long. The entire county was on red-alert, the police and the FBI were up everyone's ass about this. Go to another county or even another state. Yes this costs MONEY. Lots and lots of it, which is why the lazy get caught! Killing random people is not a hobby, it's very expensive!

2. Change your MO! This Ocampo guy was very specific in picking off defenseless drifters because he thought it was easy..It didn't work in his favor because now the police had a profile - car, dress, height, weight. It was only a matter of time until he got sloppy and the 'voices told him' he was immortal. And come on, homeless people was the best this guy could think of?? Where's somebody with a sense of imagination to come along and do the deed?! Why not play Boondock Saints and go after criminals instead? Jesus titty-fucking, doesn't anybody watch good movies anymore? Manson at least force-fed a couple of hippies LSD and made them get their hands dirty instead, there are reasons some of them are famous but most of them are poor immigrants from countries we'd rather not visit.

3. Don't ever write taunting letters. This is how Albert Fish and Ted Kacynski were both caught after being at large for a very long time. Yes, I know the Zodiac was able to do this and still got away with it, but he kept changing his MO, his location, and was sure to cover his tracks. You're not the Zodiac, crime technology is better now and its set up to catch future wannabes..And no, it wasn't Arthur Leigh Allen, don't believe everything you see. And Dennis Rader the BTK killer? Yep, he was really good and got away with it for 10 years but then he came back after a long break and got egotistical..Wrote letters to the newspapers without considering the possibility of apprehension and that's what bought him a ticket to jail.

Now, I know your defense is "Oh I was in Iraq, now I hear voices and see things". Ain't gonna work, the war has more supporters in a position of authority then detractors and not every veteran came home schiz'd out of their mind. The insanity defense rarely works anymore (Less than 1%) and he showed complete premeditation. The guy knew what he was doing, he took breaks and he even hinted to people that he was the one doing it. I know California is a completely naive liberal state full of pot smoking hippies and welfare dependents where only the criminals have rights, but the cops are far less tolerant then we would have them believe. Nobody who means a damn is going to come to this guys defense. Remember that Jared guy from Arizona? He's playing the same card and his life has ultimately turned out worse then just pleading guilty. The inevitable is only being dragged through the mud, and he'll probably fry like a pig for trying to insult everyone's intelligence. They're forcefully medicating him so he stands fit for trial, I know I wouldn't want to be held against a wall and shot in the ass with a needle by a drug that will probably make ya worse.

One thing is for certain: We won't be seeing his entry on a t-shirt or in the museum of death. Complete loser with nothing to live for and no sense of imagination, nothing more. Seriously, what a bozo.

Final words from George Carlin: "Why is it that the evil voices in people's heads always tell them to go out and kill someone? How come they never say, 'Go take a shit on the salad bar at Wendy's'"
